Viewing life through Chiropractic Glasses

What does the world look like through Chiropractic coloured glasses?  Does your health shine brighter…are your relationships with friends and family more in focus…is your job performance sharper and crisper?

You “see” everything through your nervous system-how you feel, how you interact with the people around you, how you perform at home or at work.  When your nerves are stressed, the line between barely existing and fully living is blurred.  However, the more clear your nervous system, the better your ability to interact physically, mentally and spiritually with the world around you, and ultimately the better your quality of life.

When a Chiropractor adjusts the stress from your spine, it’s like cleaning the dirt, streaks and smudges from the lens through which you interpret your world.  With a clear lens you can see all the potential you have to offer.  Life is vibrant when you’re viewing it through Chiropractic glasses.

Daylight Adjusting Time

What do Daylight Savings Time and a Chiropractic Adjustment have in common?  Both give you more light – get it!  The primary purposed of Chiropractic is to locate and correct Subluxations.  If you break the word down you get: SUB=less, LUX=light, and ATION= a condition.

Subluxation literally means a state of less light or energy caused when misaligned spinal bones (especially the Atlas and Axis restrict the flow of impulses through the nervous system.  A Chiropractic adjustment corrects this misalignment, eases pressure off nerves and extends the time Life energy streaming through you.  (Giving you more daylight to heal yourself).

When you receive an adjustment from your Chiropractor, be confident you innate healing light is shining brighter and longer with every session.  Life springs forward when you’re under regular Chiropractic Care.

Simply Raw- Reversing Diabetes Naturally

Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days is an independent documentary film that chronicles six Americans with diabetes who switch to a diet consisting entirely of vegan, organic, uncooked food in order to reverse disease without pharmaceutical medication. The six are challenged to give up meat, dairy, sugar, alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, soda, junk food, fast food, processed food, packaged food, and even cooked food for 30 days. The film follows each participant's remarkable journey and captures the medical, physical, and emotional transformations brought on by this radical diet and lifestyle change. We witness moments of struggle, support, and hope as what is revealed, with startling clarity, is that diet can reverse disease and change lives.

The film highlights each of the six before they begin the program and we first meet them in their home environment with their families. Each participant speaks candidly about their struggle to manage their diabetes and how it has affected every aspect of their life, from work to home to their relationships.
(Excerpt from main website).

"One thing you are going to learn about live food is that that's the diet that works the best. And what's the reason? When you cook the food, you lose 50% of the protein, 70% to 80% of the vitamins and minerals, and close to 100% of the phytonutrients." –Gabriel Cousens, M.D

“Harvard Got it Right…”

At first glance you’d think a chiropractor was responsible for these words.  But they were actually written by a Harvard medical school instructor in the late 1800’s.  Wile this belief is trivialized by the medical and pharmaceutical community today, it remains the core foundation
of the practice of Chiropractic.

Chiropractors humbly acknowledge that “the ONLY think that can heal the body is the Power that created it.” The wisdom of Dr. Cabot refers to in his quote is called Innate Intelligence by Chiropractors.  It is the coordinating force that maintains our body’s health.  It knowingly orchestrates all steps involved in the healing process from mending a broken bone to putting cancer in remission.  It is in favor of you living, rather than you dying.

The most important job of a Chiropractor is to teach you about this great force and keep you connected to it.  If you want to meet the REAL doctor responsible for healing you, take a look in the mirror.  It’s the one staring right back at you.

You can’t sleep, your energy levels are low and you’re finding it hard to make it through your day.  The specialist insists there’s nothing wrong, but you innately feel like something’s out of tune.  Maybe it’s time to call your chiropractor.

D.D. Palmer, the Father of Chiropractic, recognized that repetitive physical, chemical, and emotional stress can alter the normal “tone” within a persons nervous system (a.k.a. Subluxation).  This persistent irritation can lead to poor physical, mental and emotional performance.  The solution?  Restore normal tone to the Nervous System with specific, chiropractic adjustments and better health will naturally follow!

Health is the “music” that plays when all of your cells, tissues, and organs vibrate perfectly in unison – orchestrated by a finely tuned nervous system.  If you’re feeling sluggish, weak and tired, a trip to your chiropractor is what YOU need to get back in key.

Welcome 2013 with a renewed commitment to living healthy. These wellness resolutions will keep you energized, fit, and beautiful, inside and out.

Control Your Portions
Want to downsize your figure? Start downsizing your dishes. Studies show using smaller plates and bowls promote weight loss because they help to curb overeating.

Be Active
One habit naturally slim people share is their ability to stay in motion. Try to inject each day with more activity (adults should aim for 30 minutes daily). The opportunities are endless once you've developed the right mindset.

Slash Sodium Consumption
Studies show many Americans consume close to twice the recommended limit of sodium, which is a teaspoon (or 6 grams) daily. Besides contributing to water retention (think bloat!), sodium can raise blood pressure. Processed foods contain the most, so make sure to read labels. Lower sodium diets are linked to decreased risk of heart disease, but are also associated with lower hypertension and weight management.

Increase Antioxidants
When your body breaks down food it produces molecules called free radicals. Cigarette smoke and radiation also produce free radicals. Over time, the damage from these substances can result in conditions like infection, cancer, inflammation, and heart disease. That's where antioxidants step in.

Quit Smoking Already
For smokers, quitting may be the hardest resolution to stick with because it is so challenging. If you consider the benefits, and take advantage of today's resources, this could be the year you successfully become a nonsmoker.

Floss Your Teeth
Like many people, you may not know that bacteria in your mouth can lead to serious problems if you neglect oral health. You may also be surprised to learn that during routine exams, your dentist can spot indications of diabetes and heart disease. One simple thing you can do to head off bacteria is floss your teeth. To see expert solutions to gum disease and learn how to prevent gum disease and tooth loss.

Wear Sunscreen... All Year
Sun exposure affects everyone. According to the National Cancer Institute most skin cancer develops after age 50, though sun damage starts at an early age. The sun's rays are also behind brown spots, and can make wrinkles appear before their time. Wear a broad spectrum sunscreen, even in the winter, anywhere skin is laid bare to the elements.

Strength Train
In simply 10 minutes a day you could gain more energy, stronger bones, and a faster metabolism -- and you don't even need to lift dumbbells.  Find a class or exercise you are passionate about!

Take Care of yourself & Remember there are Alternatives
Watch what chemicals you are putting in your body.  Remember that Advil doesn’t know exactly where your headache or pain is.  It must travel through your whole body to get to the source of your pain and it can damage your organs in the process.  There are natural less harmful ways to deal with pain or other health issues.  See your Naturopath, Chiropractor, Massage Therapist, or Physiotherapist next time.  They are a healthier alternative!

Expect Good Things from Yourself
Having healthy expectations for yourself is important to both your physical and mental health. Obviously, that's easier said than done. A mean-spirited inner-critic can ruin relationships, keep you from reaching personal goals, and restrict your ability to be an active participant in your life.
